If you can’t go to Morocco, have Moroccan Food

Posted on Posted in Uncategorized

Morocco is on my bucket list of places I would like to visit one day. So I was delighted for the opportunity to have Moroccan food this week. UH Maui College’s Culinary Arts Program Class Act offers a twice weekly lunch, Wednesday and Friday (during the semester) with each week being a different theme.

The kitchen and wait staff are all students of the culinary program and are graded on how they perform. Our waiter Jake was a little nervous but did an excellent job along with his fellow classmates.

The menu is price fixed and includes four courses. An appetizer, choice of soup or salad, choice of entree and dessert along with ice tea. You can bring your own bottle of wine if you choose. The grilled octopus appetizer was tender, the melon salad was refreshing and my grilled spiced NY steak were all delicious!

To tie it all together, my lunch companion Bonnie told me stories about her adventures back in the day around Morocco and Spain. How fun!

If you live on Maui and haven’t been to Class Act, I highly recommend. All the money goes toward the culinary program. Click on the link to find out more information.
